Who would’ve thought when Robot Chicken did some Star Wars spoofs that it would get the attention of George Lucas and he’d agree to do an episode with Mark Hamill? I never did.

In case you haven’t seen the Robot Chicken: Star Wars spoofs like the Emperor’s Phone Call you can go over to YouTube and find them. They extremely funny and well worth your time.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Lucasfilm wanted to post the spoofs on StarWars.com. But at the meeting with creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich instead of talking about the posting, they pitched Lucasfilm on doing an entire episode of Robot Chicken: Star Wars. From that meeting a new 30 minute special was born and they got George Lucas to agree to do a voice on the show (he’ll be playing himself) and Mark Hamill will reprise his role as Luke Skywalker.

And if you look at the voice talent for the episode it’s like an all-star team - Conan O'Brien, Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy), Robert Smigel, Malcolm McDowell, Hulk Hogan, James Van Der Beek, Donald Faison, Abraham Benrubi, Breckin Meyer and Joey Fatone.

The special will spoof key scenes from the movies and the episode will air on June 17th at 10pm.
