This weekend was the big TRON: Legacy press junket here in Los Angeles. While I was able to conduct video interviews with the cast and filmmakers, I’ve decided to hold back from posting them until closer to Tron’s December 17 release.
But while you have to wait a few more weeks for Tron, you can actually enter the grid right now! That’s because Disney has launched a pretty cool Facebook app that lets you upload a picture and then you’re in the world of Tron. While I was hesitant to try it out at the press junket today, I’ll admit it’s actually worth checking out as the face mapping software works extremely well. It’s also the closest I’ll ever get to driving a light cycle. Hit the jump to watch my video:
Finally, we posted 4 clips from TRON: Legacy and 15 minutes of behind the scenes footage from the making of the film. The footage is cut to the music of Daft Punk and it features a few tracks that haven’t yet been released. Here’s my video:

Cool!
the smartest comment I have ever seen from this post. ^_^

Just tried the app. I was surprised at how well it works from a single photo, not to mention how quickly it generates the video. I saved the clip and sent a copy to a couple of my friends. It’s sure to bamboozle them as to how it was done!
I was going to say that this is a waste of money and ineffective; however watching that video, I am actually quite impressed.
what do you exactly do that this trailer deserves your impression? the way you discuss about waste of money and being ineffective sounds like you’re a big shot? so are you big shot? mr. big shot? shotty…shotty boy…
Quite frankly, by now I’d rather wait until it hits the five dollar bin at Wal-Mart. Disney’s PR dept needs a stiff shot of Penicillin to cure this “Tron: Legacy update drip.” It’s beginning to burn when I read.
