Yesterday, we reported that Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot would be filming in Boston (which is standing in for New York City), and now cameras have started rolling, which means it’s time for unofficial set photos. People have been snapping pics and uploading them online, and this gives us our first look at three of the four leads: Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and Kate McKinnon.

We don’t know much about these characters other than we learned from yesterday’s unofficial plot synopsis:

Wiig and McCarthy play a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. Flash forward a few years and Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia U. Which is pretty sweet, until her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia.

Wiig reunites with McCarthy and the other two proton pack-packing phantom wranglers, and she gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.

Unsurprisingly, we don’t know the context of the scenes, but we can speculate away at the characters’ personalities based on their costumes. Is McCarthy’s character a nerd? Is McKinnon playing a weirdo? I know these are broad archetypes, and based on Feig’s past work and the actresses’ talent, their characters will have shading, but for the time being, I’m just happy to get a glimpse of this movie. So when do we get to see Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth?
