Based on the inspiring true events, GIMME SHELTER centers on the courageous story of Agnes “Apple” Bailey (Vanessa Hudgens) and her incredible path to motherhood as a pregnant, homeless teenager.  Forced to flee her abusive mother (Rosario Dawson), and turned away by her Wall Street father (Brendan Fraser), Apple finds herself on a desperate and isolated journey of survival.  In the depths of despair, she meets a compassionate stranger (James Earl Jones), who ultimately leads her to salvation and unprecedented support in a suburban shelter for homeless teenagers.   With gained confidence, and the warmth of her new home, Apple breaks from her inhibiting past, embracing the future with clarity and hope.

Im not gonna lie at all…she looks phenomenal in the film. Like she might give a powerhouse performance…and that critic is right, that would be unexpected as fuck lol.

  • iamurfather

oscar nom? god why didnt they bring this out sooner shes phenomenal! i guess they are going to put her in for the next race in 2015. wow.

  • iamurfather

i think the best part about this trailer is that it doesnt even look overacted or over the top its rather realistic like they followed this girl around with a camera. im starting to root for vanessa

Whoa…did not expect that at all. Looks very powerful. How delightfully surprising coming from Vanessa Hudgens. I never realized she was so much more acting-wise than just a pretty, young face and a cute physique. It’s rather nice to be proven wrong.

The movie looks good and powerful but it displays a few sign of a future flop :
    The trailer premieres on yahoo
The trailer follows an introduction by the main actor
All the quotes praising the movie are from one guy Pete Hammond
And it’s released end of January

But the movie looks so good and the performances look to be on point but there’s no denying that the movie might be bad
Congratulation to the guys who cut the trailer
    Good job

Correlation does not imply causation, my dear mixed race rich friend living in NYC! I understand your points though. It still looks pretty powerful, or at least I hope it turns out being so.

i dont get how the trailer premiering on yahoo makes it a future flop tons of good movies have done so. the reason it only has one guy praising the movie is because it literally only had one screening months ago and no reviews on it since it was mostly an audience. it being released at the end of january isnt a bad thing. fruitvale station was released around this time but it has obtained oscar buzz for the screenplay and some performances.

I just farted so damn hard right now.
Let me tell you young folks what you just saw. Hollywood schmaltz at its best.
An all star cast to compensate for that chick’s talentless ass.
I’m surprised Oprah didn’t show up with a check book.

At least they didn’t play the rolling stones song of the same name in the trailer.
