While the proposed female Expendables movie may or may not come to fruition, MMA fighter/actress Gina Carano is making moves to topline an action vehicle of her own.  Heat Vision reports that Carano and comics creator Rob Liefeld are teaming up to develop a feature film adaptation of Liefeld’s comic Avengelyne.  The story of the comic centers on the titular angel who fights off demons, monsters, etc., and the proposed film is said to be in the vein of the Underworld series.  Carano and Liefeld are working together to reconceive the property as a starring vehicle for the actress, and one imagines plenty of ass will be kicked.  The two will be onhand at Comic-Con on Saturday to meet with fans and sign posters that portray Carano as Avengelyne.

Carano only recently made the move to acting with a solid debut in Haywire and a supporting role in Fast & Furious 6.  A search for a writer or writer/director to put on Avengelyne will begin next week, but there doesn’t appear to be a studio attached just yet.
