Gina Carano to Star in John Stockwell’s Action Flick IN THE BLOOD

     February 14, 2012

If you missed Haywire, you missed the big-screen debut of Gina Carano, one of the best female action stars in years.  A skilled MMA fighter, Carano delivered physical beat-downs in a convincing way and you felt every single punch.  Now, THR is reporting that Carano has grabbed another action flick and will star in John Stockwell‘s In the Blood.  In the film, which is being described in the vein of Taken, Carano will play a wife who hunts down the men who kidnapped and killed her husband. I can get on board with this premise even though it’s the same set-up as plenty of other action movies: Do not piss off this person or they will remove your life.

As a bonus for Haywire fans, that film’s stunt team, 8711, is in talks to re-team with Carano for In the Blood.  Shooting is set in late spring or early summer in Puerto Rico.

Hopefully this will be good enough for a wide release. So she won’t get stuck in the whole straight to DVD biz this early in her career.

I trusted you in haywire and I regret it. Gina is not an actress she does not give convincing pucnhes -unless you mean her lines which she killed every single one- the action was like in a theatre play. carefull and fake. It made charlie’s angels look real! I don’t know what she is paying you or maybe bulling you. Haywire was 4/10 tops. It wasn’t of course bad just because of her. I can hardly find smt good about that movie. I liked the escape scenes that reminded me Bourne but other than that nothing memorable enough.

She is a horrible actress. Give me a serious actor, like Chiwetel Ejiofor, and have him train his ass off so we believe he is a real threat. Also see Liam Neeson in Taken.

stfu freak. those are her first movies so acting will improve from a movie to a movie, the important thing HERE IS THAT SHE IS ACTUALLY A REAL FIGHTER! are u that stupid or what?

  • The Truth

Carano is not a star. Her last movie flopped. She will be lucky if this even gets released in theatres.

Wow, a whole bunch of assholes at Collider. Big surprise.

I, for one, am excited to see her in another action film.

Wow. A lot of hate in these comments. Not sure why.
Sure, Carano could use a few acting classes, but honestly, she wasn’t much worse than that damn Tatum guy. And everything else in Haywire was decent. Just a good, old fashioned action flick.

By the way, negatively comparing the well-choreographed fights in Haywire to the stupid wirework crap in Charlie’s Angels is simply bat-shit crazy.

I really liked Haywire and I thought Carano was great. I don’t know what some of you were looking for in an action film but I was certainly pleased.

I didn’t see Haywire but I love Gina Carano and if she was as bad as these comments say she was at acting then she can only get better right? I think we need a kickass female in movies and maybe she would be better suited at not being the star and maybe just get some great supporting parts in action movies.

To all those bunch of pussyes i will say, stfu. She is real fighter so the transition of fighter to actress is very hard so give her time and few more movies. Acting is easy to improve! She is one of a very rear actress that actually realy can punch so please stfu if u dont like it dont hate. She is not some angelina jolie who with 30 kilos can kill doesnts of men… i mean that kinda suck. GINA CARANO RULES!!!!! <3 And all of u pussyes can only hate… nerds…
