If you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon to watch Fox’s hit musical series Glee, then you may have a more convenient chance to catch up. Fox and Netflix just announced that they’ve inked a new deal for their digital distribution agreement for titles on Netflix Instant.

Among the new TV series hitting the library will be the aforementioned high school musical series, Sons of Anarchy from FX, Ally McBeal and my personal favorite revelation, The Wonder Years. The multi-year agreement includes more series, but those are just the highlights. Why am I so excited about The Wonder Years? I watched it as a kid, it’s never been released on DVD officially, and this will be the first time I can sit and watch the whole series from beginning to end. I cannot wait for these shows to hit Netflix Instant.

    This doesn’t make any sense.
All of the shows mentioned in this post were about shows that are coming as a result of a deal struck between Netflix and 20th Century Fox. The problem is, The Wonder Years was never on Fox or any of its networks. It ran on ABC. It doesn’t make sense that a deal between Fox and Netflix would result in The Wonder Years streaming through my PS3.
So maybe it was a typo or just a major error. One way or the other, it doesn’t look like we’re getting The Wonder Years. :-/

Tim, 20th Century Fox Television, a separate entity than the FOX TV Network, produced “The Wonder Years”. If you look at a lot of show today you will notice that Warner Brothers produced “Chuck”, “Pushing Daisies”, “Sarah Connor”, “Fringe”, and “Human Target”, but they air/aired on NBC, ABC and FOX. Shows are developed by production companies, who pitch them to the networks. If the network likes it, they order the series and the production company pays some of the cost because they make a profit off it too.

In any case, the show still isn’t available on Netflix.
