If you loved the Netflix romantic comedy Set It Up, there’s more where that came from. The dynamic duo of Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell are reteaming for another romcom at the streaming giant alongside Set It Up writer Katie Silberman, although it’s not a straight Set It Up sequel. Response to the 2018 film was so strong that fans and critics alike clamored for more from Deutch and Powell, who showcased a Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan-like chemistry in the refreshing (and highly rewatchable) romantic comedy. Deutch and Powell liked working together so much that they put their heads together to find a new project, and per THR that new project is called Most Dangerous Game.

"While it was clear that audiences were clamoring for a sequel, we are excited by the thought of creating a new, distinct film that explores different romantic comedy tropes while still being anchored in everything that we loved about the first movie,” said producer Justin Nappi.

"It will be exciting to see Glen and Zoey do something completely different," added producer Juliet Berman. "We all talked about what we could do again and [Most Dangerous Game] was something that Katie brought to us that was creatively exciting as a next project and we jumped on it."

Filming on the new project isn’t expected to begin until early 2020, once Deutch and Powell’s schedules clear, but this is mighty exciting. Set It Up somehow managed to feel both familiar (like a warm blanket) and unique enough to put a modern spin on the romcom format. While Netflix has clearly tried to replicate its success with a few other original romantic comedies in its wake, few have come close to the gem that is Set It Up.

A director is not yet set, as it appears Set It Up director Claire Scanlon won’t be back, but it’ll be interesting to see who comes onboard to helm. In addition to starring, Powell and Deutch will serve as executive producers.

Next up for Powell is a role in Top Gun: Maverick, one that was tailor made for the actor after he lost out on the part for Goose’s son but producers (and Tom Cruise) liked him so much they still wanted him to be in the movie. Deutch, meanwhile, stars in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming Netflix series The Politician as well as the upcoming Zombieland sequel.
