Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to Rewrite GOD OF WAR

Universal Pictures has brought on screenwriters Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to rewrite the video game adaptation God of War, per Heat Vision. Melton and Dunstan are best known for writing four installments in the Saw series (IV, V, VI, and Saw 3D), and most recently had a hand in the script for the breast-enhanced Piranha 3DD. For those unfamiliar with the source material, the God of War game series centers on a Spartan warrior demigod named Kratos who takes on mythological beasts during his quest to free himself from the control of the gods.

Their horror resume infers that we’ll be seeing a fairly faithful adaptation of the game (God of War isn’t lacking in darkness or violence), and the scribes also did some touch-up work on Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim. We’ll have a better idea of how God of War will end up once a director is attached, but hiring Melton and Dunstan to handle the script is an intriguing start. Charles Roven and Alex Gartner. Well another video game to movie adaptation that is going to suck. the reason video game to movie adaptation never works is because the studio hires crap screenwriters (cmon Piranha 3DD) and then those numb skulls fail to adapt the story thats right in front of them (just play the games) and finally they find a Director who knows abso-freaking-lutley nothing about the game to briing it to the big screen, then it fails like the rest of em U SUCK UNIVERSAL….I love the God Of War series but this movie is going to be a disaster

Quick, go to imdb.com look up what Melton and Dunstan have written and then come back here and tell me that God of War stands any chance of not being a disaster. Just get Uwe Boll to direct and call it a day.

Two-bit hacks who wrote the Saw sequels and Piranha 3DD? Still, as long as they avoid the fatal choices of Uwe Boll or Paul W. S. Anderson as director, it could survive.

How come this is not being released by columbia which is a sony company but universal when the game is a sony playstation only title?

They’re gonna butcher my favorite series ! As much as I want a GOW movie.Only a big director with a proper vision for the character can bring Kratos alive on the screen.
