I’m both surprised and encouraged that I’ve heard so many people excited for Godzilla. I assumed it would be a bit of a hard sell since some folks would be skeptical after the horrible 1998 adaptation, and the popular conception that the Japanese movies are cheesy (the original 1954 Godzilla is actually pretty terrifying). But it looks like the marketing has done its job, and I have high hopes for director Gareth Edwards‘ take on the iconic monster.
