International Trailer and TV Spot for GODZILLA Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Bryan Cranston

     December 11, 2013

Yesterday, the teaser trailer for Godzilla was released online, and judging by the reaction of the people I follow on Twitter, response was positive.  It’s a well-made trailer, and more importantly, the response shows that people are eager to see the giant monster get a second chance at an American adaptation.   Today, an international trailer and TV spot have gone online, and the tone is the same, but they contain brief new bits of footage.  If yesterday left you with a need for more Godzilla (or a need for actors who will be in Godzilla, since there’s not much of the titular monster at this point), it’s a quick fix.

Hit the jump for the trailer and TV spot.  The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Juliette BinocheDavid Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, and Sally Hawkins.  Godzilla opens in 3D on May 16, 2014.

The screenplay is by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont, and Dave Callaham. Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing with Mary Parent and Brian Rogers. First trailer made more of an impact, in my opinion. I’m sure a lot of it is due to the use of the music / wailing from “2001″, but I liked the eerie, spooky quality it gave.

Agreed. Same thing with the MOS trailer with the Lisa Gerrard vocal. It felt right, emotional and vast. Very disappointed on finding out it wasn’t being used, especially after hearing Zimmer’s lifeless input. Just proves how important the right score is to a film.

well, it does fit the trailer, but it would be kind of a sacrilege to use music that was specifically written for 2001 in the finished movie.

  • bidi

    well that added nothing

The trailer of “Alien” seemed to be inspiration.
