Jada Pinkett Smith just revealed that Fish Mooney isn't coming back for Gotham season 2, but the show is still packed with iconic Batman characters and now we've got yet another one moving in. Deadline is reporting that Chris Chalk has been cast as Lucius Fox, the man who ultimately goes on to become CEO of Wayne Enterprises and also serve as Bruce Wayne’s business manager. It’s never flat-out stated whether or not Fox is aware that Wayne is Batman, but his business dealings do help fulfill Batman’s equipment and financial requirements.

Fox will make his appearance in episode 21 of season 1, but Chalk does have an option to return in season 2. The Gotham rendition of the character is described as Wayne Enterprises’ resident tech genius who becomes “a moral beacon” for Bruce Wayne amidst all the criminal activity in the city.

Chalk kicked off his career in theater in New York, but you might have caught him in 12 Years a Slave or during his runs on Homeland as Tom Walker and The Newsroom as Gary Cooper. He also appeared on loads of other TV shows including Justified, Person of Interest, Nurse Jackie, Person of Interest and tons more.

Gotham’s had its ups and downs throughout the season, but the show is playing well enough for Fox to green light round two. Still no word on how many episodes it’ll get, but there is definitely a chance Fox could pass on another 22-episode season and revert back to the 16-episode format.
