Those who thought Nicholas D’Agosto made a positive Dent (see what I did there?) in Gotham’s first season will be happy to know that the actor has been promoted to a regular role in Season 2 of the Fox series.

D’Agosto made the announcement today via his Twitter account, as seen below. The Masters of Sex alum was introduced halfway into Gotham’s season as ADA Harvey Dent, who ends up as being one of the few people Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) can actually trust. (Morena Baccarin, as Jim's confident and girlfriend Dr. Leslie Thompkins, has also been promoted to a series regular). At least, for now. Dent does of course have a rather two-faced future ahead of him …

But that’s all probably pretty far in the future, since Gotham for the most part has taken its origin story a little too early in the tale to be particularly viable as a good drama. Still, perhaps Season 2 will learn from Season 1’s mistakes, and maybe D’Agosto’s Harvey Dent will be a part of that fix.
