With Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar Games seems to be saying that we’ll never need another video game.  Last month, we saw how much gameplay the single-player experience offered.  Today, there’s a trailer for the online side, and all I can say is, “Holy.  Shit.”  I know that’s not very eloquent, but the online aspect goes far beyond what I imagined.  This isn’t just shootout deathmatches where someone who has way too much freetime will dominate every single game and proceed to sling racial and homophobic epithets your way.  GTA V will offer heists, races, and a ridiculous amount of customization.  Looking at this trailer, I can’t believe this is actually available on current-gen consoles.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  Click here to pre-order the game on Xbox 360, and click here to pre-order it on PlayStation 3.  Grand Theft Auto V will be released on September 17th.
