Want a little tease of footage from children of Men-director Alfonso Cuaron’s highly anticipated upcoming sci-fi drama, Gravity?  Well, you got it!  The visual effects-heavy 3D film stars Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side) as an astronaut stranded alone in space following a catastrophic event onboard a spacecraft.  George Clooney (Ocean's Eleven), as glimpsed in this teaser, has a supporting role.  Further details are under wraps, but the film is said to have an unbroken 17-minute opening shot and will feature plenty of mind-bending effects.  Warner Bros. recently announced that the film will open on October 4th of this year.  Hit the jump to check out a brief bit of footage and be sure to return on Thursday when the first trailer hits. Here's a brief little snippet (and a modified Wilhelm scream?) from Cuaron's Gravity:[EMBED_YT]https://www.youtube.com/embed/yveFKSg74bQ[/EMBED_YT]Here’s the synopsis for Gravity:

Sandra Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
