It appears reports of “The Green Hornet’s” death have been greatly exaggerated. While Drew over at HitFix was able to get three separate sources saying that the project was dead or near-death, he admits he should have just talked to the man himself: Seth Rogen, who is the film’s co-producer, co-writer, and star. Says Rogen:
“‘The Green Hornet’ has many people working for it, including production designers, costume designers and many conceptual artists, office staff, etc. [The studio heads] have every intention on making it, and assuming we’re able to hire a new director in the upcoming weeks, which seems like a distinct possibilty, it should still hit the release date.”
So it’s still on! And AICN is reporting that despite dropping out as director, Stephen Chow is still on board as Kato!
This is all great news. In a town where projects can seem to fall apart in a blink of an eye, it’s good to know that project with the potential of “Green Hornet” can still fight its way to it’s June 25, 2010 release date.
