Eli Roth knows how to bring the pain — for characters and audiences alike. While Roth puts his protagonists through hell on screen, viewers get to cringe, scream, and grimace along with them from the safety of their theater seats. And boy, do they. Today, we’re happy to debut an exclusive The Green Inferno motion poster for Roth’s cannibal bloodbath that shows audiences having an in-seat freakout over the all-out mayhem depicted on screen.
I caught The Green Inferno when it screened at AFI Fest way back in 2013, and I have no doubt these reactions are authentic (Personally, I’m quite fond of the woman on the lower left-hand side, who seems to be having a swell time). The film follows a bunch of privileged eco do-gooders who find themselves trapped in an amazonian jungle with a tribe of flesh-hungry natives. It’s a grotesque, gruesome affair that sends all manner of body parts flying across the screen with perverse exuberance. The film stars Lorenza Isso, Ariel Levy, Daryl Sabara, and Kirby Bliss Blanton. The Green Inferno opens in theaters on September 25th. Here’s the official synopsis for The Green Inferno:
Directed, co-written, and produced by Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel franchise), THE GREEN INFERNO follows a group of student activists who travel from New York City to the Amazon to save a tribe from extinction. In an unfortunate twist of fate, when the group arrives, they are taken hostage by the very cannibals they sought to protect.
