Shooting on Martin Campbell's Green Lantern wrapped this weekend, and today comes the news that Warner Bros. is already moving ahead with the sequel.  According to Variety, the studio has tapped screenwriter Michael Goldenberg (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) to pen Green Lantern 2.  In June, WB hired Greg Berlanti, Michael Green, and Marc Guggenheim—who were all writers on Green Lantern—to write a treatment for the sequel.  Goldenberg (who did a rewrite on Green Lantern) will presumably work from that treatment.

Bringing the enduringly popular superhero to the big screen for the first time, “Green Lantern” stars Ryan Reynolds (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) in the title role, under the direction of Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale”).
