Trailer for GREEN LANTERN Will Be Attached to HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS – PART 1

DC Comics writer and Chief Creative Office Geoff Johns announced today at New York Comic-Con [via thegreenlanterncorps.com] that the first trailer for Green Lantern will be attached to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1.  Interestingly, Green Lantern is in 3D and would likely have a 3D trailer were it attached to a 3D movie.  However, as we just reported, Warner Bros. has decided to release Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I in 2D only.  I’m curious to see if Warner Bros. might not wait a month and release their Green Lantern trailer with their only remaining 3D film this year, Yogi Bear.

For the film’s official synopsis, hit the jump.  Green Lantern stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, and Mark Strong.  It’s set to open June 17, 2011.  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 opens November 19th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Green Lantern:

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.

Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

When The Green Hornet and The Green Lantern are released, the public will be bewildered between them and the Green Arrow from Smallville.

Isn’t Green Lantern a post-production 3D conversion? If so they may not be interested in releasing a “rushed” 3D trailer and want spend more time making it look better than say Clash of the Titans. Also Tron is coming out in December so we could see 3D then.

Campbell might be one of those work-for-hire directors. But every once in a while, lightning strikes. BOOM! you got a “CASINO ROYALE”. i wasnt expecting a film that great from a guy who did Legend of Zorro or Vertical Limit(though Mask of Zorro is always fun to watch on television, but still, it wasnt a great movie).

let’s see if he can do a movie as good as his CASINO ROYALE.
