Gerta Gerwig (Greenberg) has joined the cast of Jason Winer’s remake of the 1981 Dudley Moore film Arthur. The remake stars Russell Brand in the Moore role of a lovable drunk who risks his inheritance on a woman he loves rather than the one his parents demand he marry. The woman Arthur loves is Linda, a charismatic shoplifter, a role originally played by Liza Minnelli and the one Gerwig will play in the remake. Gerwig also recently signed on to co-star in Ivan Reitman’s untitled romantic comedy starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher.
As we reported a couple weeks ago, Helen Mirren will play the Sir John Gielgud role of “Hobson”, Arthur’s valet/unofficial adviser. [Deadline]

Good to see her getting more roles. I am a big fan of her in Hannah Takes The Stairs and Nights & Weekends.
Oh come on Russell Brand, you're really lucky to have an opportunity to share your talent to many people. Before anything drama I'd like to be drunk with laughter first with Get Him to the Greek. He is with P.Diddy, Jonah Hill and more…
can't wait for this to come out
