Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is poised to be one of Marvel's biggest hits yet. The first film went from unlikely underdog to one of the studio's best-received movies to date and hype for Vol. 2 has only escalated. First with the tremendous cast additions -- most notably Kurt Russell, who's finally confirmed to be playing Peter Quill's dad, Ego the Living Planet. Then once the Comic-Con footage dropped to rapturous response, it exploded to the point that director James Gunn asked the internet to kindly  step off his dick about when the Vol. 2 trailer will finally hit.

Now, Chris Pratt is throwing some fuel on the hype fire with his heavy praise for the sequel. While doing the press round for The Magnificent Seven at TIFF, Pratt spoke with the Toronto Sun, and while he was obviously pretty tight-lipped, he offered up this little nugget:

It’s a fabulous script. I think it’s going to be — I’m not using hyperbole, here - I think it’s going to be the biggest spectacle movie of all time.

As someone who was in the room for the Comic-Con footage reveal, it truly was spectacular, and I'm not just trying to be cute with "spectacle" word play. The footage not only showed off Gunn's proven gift for a well-composed set-piece (although it did that in spades), but also demonstrated how well he knows how to use his beloved characters. If you thought you loved dancing Baby Groot, get ready for murdering Baby Groot. You can read Tommy's full footage recap here, but suffice it to say, if the footage was any indication, the hype is well warranted.

Unfortunately, that Vol. 2 trailer isn't going to drop just because we keep asking (Gunn's recent, lengthy Q&A post suggests it won't arrive until after Christmas), but for now, you can catch up with more of the latest Guardians of the Galaxy news in our recent coverage below.
