You've already watched the new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, right? If not, do that now, otherwise this selection of images is going to seem downright bizarre out of context. Well, to be fair, they're pretty bizarre regardless of context thanks to the title team battling such space monstrosities as Abilisk, and for the trusting of Baby Groot with high explosives. But if you've seen the first film, you're probably all-in on the weirdness already.

While this new trailer doesn't offer up a whole lot of info about the plot of the film itself, it does finally give us a great look at Pom Klementieff's character, Mantis. The Marvel superheroine has a pretty interesting and involved backstory and power set, but it's not clear just how those will translate onto the big screen. What is clear is that Mantis' design fits perfectly into the world of Guardians of the Galaxy, and her personality jibes well with this bunch of a-holes.

Written and directed by James Gunn, the follow-up reunites the titular Guardians of the Galaxy—Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Baby Groot (Vin Diesel)—to battle a new threat and search for Peter Quill’s father. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2  also stars Kurt Russell, Karen Gillian, Elizabeth Debicki, Michael Rooker, and Glenn Close, and opens in theaters on May 5, 2017.
