Since audiences got a look at James Gunn’s surprise hit Guardians of the Galaxy, everyone has been patiently waiting for the inevitable sequel, and the release of a new trailer hints that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be well worth the wait. The newest trailer for the follow-up brings Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) back together for a brand new space adventure.

This trailer was everything you would expect and hope for, giving glimpses at the bigger action, the fantastic comedy, the brilliant character interactions; plus the best thing of the trailer and probably the movie, Baby Groot. You get to see everything that would make you even more excited for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 while still knowing very little about the plot, and that’s what makes it so effective.

‘Aquaman’ Gets an Official Release Date

After a brief cameo in Batman v Superman and an upcoming full appearance in Justice League, Jason Momoa’s Atlantean King will get his own standalone movie with James Wan’s Aquaman, and we now know when that will be. According to reports, WB and DC Films have set the official release of Aquaman for October 5, 2018, releasing the film in 3D and IMAX. We still know next to nothing from the movie, but Wan has described the tone as a classic adventure film “in the spirit of Raiders of the Lost Ark.” Having an official release date is good news and Wan certainly seems to know where he wants to take the story, let’s hope Aquaman’s introduction in Justice League leaves fans hungry for his solo film and his entire world.

‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’: Spidey Suit to Include Classic Touch

In the world of superhero movies fans usually compare these characters and their looks to the source material expecting them to be faithful adaptations, and in the case of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Jon Watts appears to have included a classic detail in Spidey’s suit that comic fans should enjoy. At Comic Con Experience 2016 in Brazil, audiences were treated to a short clip from the film showcasing an upgraded Spidey suit, which includes the wall-crawler’s classic web wings. This is one of those details that is a tip of the hat to the comics and the artists, not that it will make the movie any better or worse, but still something that will probably make you smile when you see it on screen.

In other Spider-Man news, if you like little peeks at behind-the-scenes movie magic, then you will enjoy this post-production video of Tom Holland recording some facial capture.

‘The LEGO Batman Movie’: Billy Dee Williams to Voice Two-Face

From what we’ve seen so far in promotional material from The LEGO Batman Movie, the team behind the animated film is definitely very aware of the character’s rich history, including all the iterations in movies and television. That awareness seems to have influenced the casting as well, with the reveal that Billy Dee Williams lent his voice to play Two-Face in the movie. The actor played Harvey Dent in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman, and while he didn’t get to play Dent’s alter ego in that movie, he will get to voice Two-Face in The LEGO Batman. Curiously, this wasn’t revealed in some big announcement, instead a fan on Twitter asked director Chris McKay if Williams would voice the character, and he responded with a simple “He does.”

‘Power Rangers’: New Rita Repulsa Images and Alpha 5 Concept Art

The upcoming Power Rangers definitely wants to keep talk about the movie going with promotional material as its release date gets closer, the latest topics of discussion being new images and concept art. The new images set the spotlight on Elizabeth Banks’ Rita Repulsa in all of her green-suited, staff-wielding glory, and appearing a tad more seductive than what you probably remember of the villain in the original 1990s TV series.

The concept art features friendly robot Alpha 5, giving us a look at what could be his brand new design in the film. The concept art of Alpha 5 hasn’t had the most positive response, and let’s just say I don’t expect to see many kids lining up to get the Alpha 5 toy. This is just concept art that we’re talking about, so the final version in the film could look a lot better, but these images really aren’t too encouraging.
