New GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Posters Focus on Villains Ronan, Nebula, and Korath

     July 17, 2014

Following yesterday’s Guardians of the Galaxy posters for supporting characters, Marvel has now turned their attention to the film’s villains.  The studio has now released character posters for Ronan (Lee Pace), Nebula (Karen Gillan), and Korath (Djimon Hounson).  I’ve enjoyed all these character posters because they’re bright, colorful, and don’t fill the image with sparks and debris.  It looks like we now have all of the character posters except Benicio Del Toro as The Collector.  If we do get one for him, I hope it’s based off this image.

Hit the jump to check out the new Guardians of the Galaxy posters.  The film also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe SaldanaDave Bautista, Glenn Close, Michael Rooker, John C. Reilly, and the voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin DieselGuardians of the Galaxy opens in 3D on August 1st.

Here’s the official synopsis for Guardians of the Galaxy:

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team – the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits – Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand – with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” is presented by Marvel Studios. The film releases August 1, 2014, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Kinda wish Ronan wasn’t looking at the camera in such a “non-accusing” way, but Nebula looks dang pretty!
Korath- know nothing of his character aside from what I’ve seen, and Hunsou basically looks like an old Masters of the Universe character. As in, he’s wearing clip- on, rubber armor, clearly.

Still psyched. Thank you for Nebula & Ronan. I Re ea ally want a Collector poster as well. (That gif has seen some abuse online. But he sounds & looks anazing.)

If Nebula’s arms were raised she’d basically be in the same pose as Black Widow on the Cap 2 poster.

Exactly what I first thought on seeing that poster. And going back and comparing, it’s exactly the same pose other than the head and slightly different with the arms. You almost have to wonder if it was the same photographer and they actually put the two of them in the same pose.

I guess at least it’s not the looking over the shoulder butt shot.

When you consider Cap 2′s success, I guess it makes sense that Disney/Marvel’s marketing team would try to borrow some of the things that they got feedback for from that campaign. And there was no shortage of “Damn, that Johansson pose is hawt!” feedback.

My god!!! I wish you people would stop complaining!!! These posters look incredible!!! RONAN’s poster is fantastic!!! He looks menacing!!!

Oh hey, they gave Karen Gillan bigger boobs and a smaller waist. I guess those are attributes that enhance her character, right?

  • Person

Kinda wish Djimon Hounsou was the main bad guy, he looks way more menacing than either of the other two.

  • jk

Can’t wait to see Lee Pace in action. He is just nuts in Halt and Catch Fire.

  • appolox

Man. Ronan looks bad to the bone! I’m curious as to how Lee Pace will portray him, as i haven’t seen him in anything. Would anyone be kind enough to tell me about him and some of his performances?

    • Pk

He has acted well in hobbit the desolation of smaug and the new tv show halt and catch fire as well as that last twilight movie. Oh and also starred in a tv show called pushing daisies

      • appolox

        Oh. Thank you.

  • DEADP00L

Be still my beating heart with all the blueness of this chick!
