This time next year, parker-goers at Disney California Adventure will be able to explore The Collector’s fortress and see his immense treasure trove in the Marvel-based ride Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! The official Disney Parks Blog has unveiled a special preview of what the attraction will look with a behind-the-scenes video and images of the colorful fortress.

Joe Rodhe of Walt Disney Imagineering says in the video that the setting of the ride is this “giant warehouse,” a “huge power plant kind of a place that’s surging with power.” The outside looks similar to Tower of Terror, which will be closing at the park to make room for this attraction. The inside houses The Collector’s massive collection as we glimpsed in movie form via Benicio Del Toro in Guardians of the Galaxy. The Imagineering team took structural nods from oil refineries and color inspiration from comic books.

The full scope of what attendees will be able to see is unknown at this time, but concept art shown in the video reveal Adam Warlock’s cocoon, a Dark Elf mask from Thor: The Dark World, and Cosmo, that astronaut dog.

Watch the video below.

Guests of Mission: BREAKOUT! will board a gantry lift as they’re launched into an adventure with Rocket Raccoon to stop his fellow Guardians from becoming The Collector’s latest acquisitions. The film’s official soundtrack will accompany this epic quest.

The ride is scheduled to open next summer. Here’s the official description:

Featuring characters from the blockbuster films, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is an epic new adventure combining the familiar, breathtaking free-fall sensation with all-new visual and audio effects, including music inspired by the popular Guardians of the Galaxy film soundtrack. Guests will experience a variety of randomized ride experiences, so you never know which adventure you will get!
