Flashback – Sky High (2005)
Imagine a world where superheroes are so popular that their kids went to a special floating High School in the sky – where the children are taught how to harness their powers, and are selected into two groups “Heroes” or “Sidekicks”. This story follows Kurt Russell and Kelly Preston’s kid, his friends and their adventures. With recent news of a possible sequel in the works from Mike Mitchell, let’s revisit Sky High.
Spotlight – Jupiter’s Legacy
This week’s Spotlight is on the incredible comic series called Jupiters Legacy, created by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely. This series, as with most Mark Millar comics, goes into dark territories with its heroes, and this is no different. Superheroes fight each other, with certain powered characters teaming up with the government, while others go into hiding, or fight against each other, with grisly results. The big screen flavor that Millar has added to such series like Secret Service, Nemesis, and Kickass are all here, only amplified to 11! This series has been recently optioned by Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, so I think we will hopefully see this come to life very soon.
