Kevin Tancharoen (Mortal Kombat: Legacy) has signed on to direct The Guns of Christmas Past.  The script by Andrew Hilton is very loosely based on the classic Charles Dickens tale A Christmas Carol.  The story centers on a retired hitman in Chicago on Christmas Eve.  The hitman must fight three unlikely adversaries from his past, present, and future while on a mission to avenge the death of a friend.  It sounds like a fun premise—after seeing his work in the Mortal Kombat realm, I am happy to see Tancharoen get a chance with a feature budget to make an action movie with a goofy story.

Deadline reports Zev Foreman and Nicolas Chartier will produce The Guns of Christmas Past for Voltage Pictures.
