Halle Berry is set to lead the suspense-thriller The Hive for The Machinist director Brad Anderson.  According to Variety, Berry will play “911 emergency operator who must face her own fears in order to save a teenage girl from a disturbed killer.”  We reported in January that Joel Schumacher had dropped off the project and been replaced by Anderson.  Berry had also dropped out due to scheduling, but now she’s back on board since the start date has been pressed back.  Filming is set to begin in June in Los Angeles.

Berry recently co-starred in New Year’s Eve, and she’ll next be seen in the shark movie Dark Tide. In a more prestigious move, she’s also co-starring in the Wachowski Siblings and Tom Tykwer‘s adaptation of Cloud Atlas.  Like her co-stars in that film, Berry will be playing multiple roles, which include a Jewish woman in the 1930s and an old tribal woman.
