Halo 5: Guardians isn’t due out until 2015, but Microsoft and 343 Studios are planning to tide over fans this year with Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Announced today during Microsoft’s E3 presentation, the collection will include Halo Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4. Halo 2 Anniversary will come with new textures, models, and sound, although players will be able to switch back to the game’s original Xbox visuals at any time. The collection will come with every multiplayer map, and all games will run at 60 frames per second. Additionally, the set will come with access to the live-action Halo series Halo: Nightfall (which is different than the Steven Spielberg-produced series) and the Halo 5 multiplayer beta. And yet for all the times “Halo” was said during the presentation, few details were released about these two titles.
