Harley Quinn Gets A Writer
Margot Robbie is one of the best things that Suicide Squad brought to the big screen. Following her introduction to the DCEU, Harley Quinn will be featured in a new movie she is producing. Tentatively being called Bird of Prey, this will bring her character back alongside many other female supervillains and heroes. Christina Hodson, who just wrote a reboot of The Fugitive and the first Transformers spin-off Bumblebee, is scripting this spin-off for Warner Bros and DC Films.
Jessica Chastain Set to Produce Painkiller Jane
News broke that Jessica Chastain with star and produce the adaptation of Painkiller Jane, the story about a New York cop named Jane Vasko who gains powers when almost getting killed, eventually becoming a revenge vehicle of destruction on the people who tried to kill her. This comic book property was created by Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada for Event Comics. This was previously a TV movie and series starring Terminator 3’s Kristanna Loken.
Ghost in the Shell Explodes Across the Internet
The world of cyberbrains is upon us in live-action with the release of the Ghost in the Shell poster, trailer and first two minutes of the feature this past weekend. This famous manga comic series by Masamune Shirow has been adapted as multiple animated features and television series.' This adaptation will be the first time it’s been made as a live action film, with some considerable pushback with the casting of Scarlett Johansson as The Major. Section 9 comes to life on March 31st, 2017.

Spotlight - Joe Casey
This weeks spotlight is on writer Joe Casey, whose's worked on many Marvel characters such as Cable, The Incredible Hulk, Avengers and X-Men, Wildstorm with Wildcats, Mr. Majestic and Youngblood. Casey also had a run with DC comics on the Adventures of Superman, Superman/Batman and his own creator owned imprints like Godland, Codeflesh, Nixons Pals, Sex, and Officer Downe, which has been turned into a feature film which Joe has written as well.
