Last week, we heard Harrison Ford broke his ankle on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII.  On Monday, we learned Ford will miss eight weeks of filming.  According to publicist Ina Treciokas, Ford actually broke his leg while shooting.  It is an unfortunate development, but it sounds like Ford’s recovery is progressing as well as can be.  Treciokas said in a statement [via BBC]:

“His surgery was successful and he will begin rehab shortly.  He’s doing well and looks forward to returning to work.”

I hope this is our last update on Ford’s injury before we report his triumphant return to set in August.  Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, and Daisy Ridley also star in the highly anticipated sequel directed by J.J. AbramsStar Wars: Episode VII opens December 18, 2015.
