Harrison Ford Exclusive Video Interview EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES

When I found out I’d get the opportunity to speak with Harrison Ford for his new movie Extraordinary Measures, I’ll admit to being extremely excited and beyond nervous.  Not only because I’d finally win Celebrity Bingo…no, the reason I was nervous is that it’s HARRISON FORD! Han Solo. Indiana Jones. Jack Ryan. Rich Deckard. Dr. Richard Kimble.  Harrison Ford is someone I grew up idolizing and the opportunity to speak with him was an amazing experience.  Also, I’ve spoken to journalists who have been in the game for over a decade and they all told me Ford rarely does press.  I walked in knowing this might be the only time I ever interview this legend of cinema.  So yeah, no pressure.

But enough of with my anxiety.  The reason I got to speak with Ford is he’s out promoting Extraordinary Measures (which he executive produced), which is the first movie from CBS Films.  It’s inspired by the true story of John Crowley – someone who risked his family’s future to pursue a cure for his children’s life threatening disease.  Playing Crowley is Brendan Fraser and Harrison Ford stars as the brilliant but unconventional scientist who teams up with Crowley to find a cure.

During my limited time with Ford we talked about doing press, how the project came together, social networking like Twitter and Facebook, and I closed off the interview by asking about Blade Runner!  So what are you waiting for?  Watch the interview after the jump!

Holy shit, he is still the king of cool.

You handled yourself very well man.

Nice, Frosty, it's only a pity they let you interview the stars for such a short time only.

You should really stop asking people what they think about facebook and twitter and ask more about their careers or their lives. I'm as big of a Harrison fan as you're likely to find and I really don't care at all what he or anyone thinks about social networking. I realize you're just trying to shake things up a bit and not ask the same questions everyone else does, but you should think of something better to ask.

Leave it to a fan to ask the only good question. No one cares about celebs being on twitter. Waste of a question.

next time, ask questions about the actor and his future projects rather than giving other websites more attention than they deserve

Oh yeah, you guys ares so right. How dare Steve ask a question that Ford probably hasn't been asked yet, what a total jerk! Shaking things up, what's up with that?!? Getting Ford to laugh and have fun with the question about social networking?!? That's so uncalled for, you guys are so right. I'm sure your interview skills are mad crazy, while Steve and his different questions are so whack.

Harrison Ford seems like a tough nut to crack as far as getting a good interview out of him. At least most of the interviews I've seen him do come out pretty dreadful.

That said, this one was good and his answers were interesting. His thoughts on promoting issues as an Actor were especially grounded and worth repeating.

Props to Steve. Good recovery from the first question/answer which sort of went no where. :)

I am sorry to say but… all the characters Mr. Harrison played were good but Deckard is still my favourite one. Personally I will remember Mr. Ford as Deckard. I believe it was his best film. I dont say others of his films are bad films or anything like that but the “magic” of Deckard will always rises higher that his other characters.-
