This summer, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be gracing London’s Palace Theater, and now we have the first look at Jamie Parker as adult Harry Potter along with Poppy Miller as Ginny Potter and Sam Clemmett their son Albus Severus Potter.

The photos have almost a sinister, morose look to them. This is not a happy family portrait, and I’m curious to see how it relates to the show. I’ll remain curious because unless a fortune falls in my lap, there’s no way I’m getting to London to see this show. Thankfully, the script book will be out this summer as well and I’ll definitely be picking that up when it lands on July 31st (which is also Harry’s birthday).

Check out the photos below of Parker, Miller, and Clemmett. Personally, I’m particularly excited to see when we’ll get our first look at the adult Hermoine (who’s being played by an black actress) and the adult Ron.

Here’s the official synopsis for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child:

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
