15 Minutes of Behind the Scenes Footage (B-Roll) from HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS

If you’re a fan of the Harry Potter movies and wish you could have visited the set and watched them film, I’ve got the next best thing. That’s because Warner Bros. has just released the EPK for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and they’re provided us with 15 minutes of B-Roll (Behind the Scenes Footage).  So if you’d like to see what it was really like on set while filming, these are the videos for you.  What’s great about the footage is that it’s not cleaned up for a documentary or for the home video release.   Some of it is whole takes recorded on the sidelines.  What I also love about the footage is seeing everyone in costume between takes having fun.  If you’re a fan of Harry Potter, I think you’ll really enjoy checking it out:

And if you missed the 6 clips we posted from the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, you can check them out here.

Anyone else have to refresh the page several times to get the clips to work? In the end, I was able to watch all of them, but damn – that took a while. Awesome clips though! I love me some fly-on-the wall BTS footage.

However, in the interest of accuracy, I do have one little nit-picky qualm to mention to Collider. In film parlance, “B-Roll” is not what these clips are. “B-Roll,” is footage seen in the film that has no talent in it; ie: traffic, aerial shots, trees/landscapes, etc. What these clips are should be referred to as “BTS”, or “Behind the Scenes.” That’s what the job of the person filming these clips is referred to: “BTS.” Not a big deal, and I’m not trying to jump down Collider’s throat – on the contrary, I love Collider. This is just a common misconception that I felt needed to be corrected. Thanks.
