The first trailer, poster and synopsis for The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia have popped up online today. While the title is a mouthful, it’s meant to convey the original documentary source material that delved into two separate hauntings in each of the respective states. As bad as the title is, the trailer is actually pretty decent. There’s no found footage to be seen and it looks like a good old fashioned ghost story with some social commentary thrown in for good measure.
Directed by Tom Elkins, The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia stars Katee Sackhoff, Chad Michael Murray and Abigail Spencer. Look for it in limited theatrical release and on VOD starting February 1, 2013. Hit the jump for the trailer, poster and synopsis.

Here’s the synopsis for The Haunting in Connecticut 2: The Ghosts of Georgia:
When Andy Wyrick moves his wife Lisa and daughter Heidi to an historic home in Georgia, they quickly discover they are not the house’s only inhabitants. Joined by Lisa’s free-spirited sister, Joyce, the family soon comes face-to-face with a bone-chilling mystery born of a deranged desire… a haunting secret rising from underground and threatening to bring down anyone in its path.

The tits on that chick are amazing!
possibly the worst title for a movie since electric boogaloo. Why didn’t they just call it “the Haunting in Georgia”? do they think audiences are stupid enough to not recognize the connection? It’s straight-to-dvd anyway, not like it matters much.
I just really really dislike the discourse in Hollywood that demands that every movie needs to have some sort of established name (like Stretch Armstrong or Battlehip, gimme a break) and that every successful movie needs to be a franchise even if the resulting sequel is this kind of garbage.

Work “Rises” in there somewhere and you’re automatically greenlit.
The movie is not that bad, I think I liked it.
