For those of you who thought Jumper was a good movie and worth its own franchise, we have some good news.  Speaking to MTV, Hayden Christensen said "We're talking about it right now actually," and that the story will be, "somewhere a little darker. I think there's a lot you can do with it. It was sort of set up in a way it's gonna be mother hunting son and possibly even maybe sister hunting brother. We're talking about it, trying to figure it out."  I don't see Jamie Bell's name anywhere in that response.  That's a problem seeing as he was easily the best thing in Jumper.

People in Hollywood talk about almost any film to keep it alive.  Ask an actor "What are your thoughts on a sequel to X" and the response is almost always along the lines of, "I haven't heard anything but I'd be open to it if there's a good story."  (I long for the day when an actor responds, "I'd be open to it if there's a dumptruck full of money in it for me.")  Jumper 2 may be a bit further along, but I wouldn't bet on seeing any serious movement on it any time soon.
