Zack Snyder Trolls the Internet with Henry Cavill SuperJedi Image

San Diego Comic-Con is a time when studios start touting or teasing a number of upcoming films, some of which haven’t even been officially announced yet.  However, director Zack Snyder has presumably decided to toy with this culture of intrigue and pop-culture excitement, as he recently shared an image on Twitter of Henry Cavill dressed up in full Jedi regalia with the hashtag “SuperJedi”.  Before you start getting any ideas, no Warner Bros. does not own the rights to Star Wars, Disney does, so no, a Star Wars/Superman crossover will not be happening.  A full Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice panel has not been officially announced for Warner Bros.’ Hall H block on Saturday, but I’d be surprised if we didn’t see at least something from the film.  Whether it has anything to do with this so-called “SuperJedi” I have no idea, but the internet is sure to be aflutter with Superman/Star Wars speculation throughout the next couple of days.  Well played, Mr. Snyder.

Hit the jump to check out the Henry Cavill SuperJedi image, and check Collider frequently over the next four days for our wall-to-wall Comic-Con coverage.

      Patton Oswalt agrees

He’ll always be Spence from King of Queens to be. He’s the man…

Really liked Kevin James as a comedic actor (and a lot of that show’s cast overall), but never got into that show, it never clicked with me. But yeah, anytime Oswalt shows up in anything I smile.

      • Pernell Whitaker

That and Everybody Loves Raymond are my shows… Never get old for me.

      • Person

Everybody Loves Raymond is arguably the main reason I have a Netflix account.

      • Pernell Whitaker

Haha, me too… It’s all about Robert imo

His stand up is way better than his work on King of Queens.

I dunno… The Spence and Danny combo of later seasons was pretty damn hilarious at times.

That’s pretty funny as fan speculation this weekend is hitting a record high for anything Star Wars/DC comics related.

Zach Snyder wins the internet today.

Security is so tight Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), and Gal Gadot
(Wonder Woman) all have to wear big black robes when they’re on set and not filming a scene. It appears that they took a photo of Cavill in one of those robes and then decided to have a little fun in Photoshop and turn it into a Star Wars themed shoot.

Really? No one with an active brain is actually speculating on a Star Wars/Superman crossover. Not even sure that counts as trolling.

“Trolling the internet”? Seems to me Snyder’s just having a bit of fun with the fans. Nothing to get faux outraged over, IMO.

    • Still Hurting

He started to have fun with the fans since he cast Ben Affleck.

I agree, but I doubt it’s a bit of fun. He knows how to seed and market his messaging. Something else will come of this, I’m sure of it.

Wonder if they’ll finally reveal Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman look for Comic Con. Seems to me it would be the perfect time.

according to Barnes and Noble, yesterday was Batman day. they had Batman themed events at a whole bunch of their stores. i was fully expecting WB to release a new, full image of Batman like the Superman one. maybe we’ll get Batman and Wonder Woman at Comic Con

  • SomeGuy

After the events of ‘Man of Steel’, Superman went to the dark side.

    • demonicstrawberry

      Or, more likely, Darkseid.

  • Oliver Queen

Maybe this is a hint that a star wars spin-off will focus on some sort of Super enhanced Jedi warrior and Snyder’s involved. Or just a little fun joke.

  • Bomtronathon

    More like Super Sith.

sooo… you genuinely thought it was worth it/necessary to include THIS sentence in the report? Gotta be honest, I find that a little troubling…

Honestly, there are crazy fans who would believe it and instantly jump down Snyder’s throat. Welcome to the internet
