First Look at HERCULES: THE LEGEND BEGINS Starring Kellan Lutz

     October 10, 2013

While on set of The Expendables 3 (which is a little teaser in and of itself), Kellan Lutz (The Twilight Saga) introduced this brief teaser trailer for director Renny Harlin’s Hercules: The Legend Begins.  Lutz stars as the title hero in an action/adventure flick which will feature gladiatorial style battles, although the plot remains under wraps.  Lutz will appear at New York Comic-Con this Saturday and will likely screen this teaser for the attendees.  Also starring Gaia Weiss, Liam McIntyre, Scott Adkins, Roxanne McKee and Luke NewberryHercules: The Legend Begins is due out next March.  Hit the jump to watch the teaser trailer.

Glad to see Liam McIntyre getting some work after Spartacus… Too bad it’s this movie.

At least its not Ratner’s film.

(I was going to try to stereotype what kind of role he would have had if he was in Ratner’s film and then I realized the only real characterization there is in any of Ratner’s films are racist stereotypes)

Liam McIntyre would be perfect as Aquaman…DC make it happen.

        Kellan Lutz…perfect Aquaman!!

  • Leo Spaceman

I came here to see Spartacus. For Liam’s sake, I want this movie to be good. I think that it might have a chance if it knows exactly what it is trying to be and pulls it off. Also I hate Bret Ratner. His directing style is similar to Michael Bay’s in which he focuses getting the film made and not the quality of the film. He has no artistic talent and brings nothing to his films either visually or story wise. He also seems like an indignant little s**t incapable of showing grace or humility.

Basically I don’t like Ratner, so go Spartacus and friends. Sorry Mr. Rock.

  • ScratStitch

Ratner hate has gotten SO old. Let’s be honest, people, we all know that The Rock as Hercules is going to be better than this movie….

Also, where were those “racist stereotypes” in X-Men 3, a movie that REALLY wasn’t bad, but internet fanboys like to pretend was unspeakably bad?

    • GunzOfNavarone

It wasn’t bad? You’re easily pleased!

Surprisignly, this looks better than I thought. Bad wirework, though…

  • The Flobbit

Might even be able to contend with the might of The Rock.

    • Leo Spaceman

No, nothing contends with the might of The Rock. The Rock is all that is and ever shall be. This might be able to contend with the might of the Rock as he fights to not be dragged through Ratner’s barren void of creativity while simultaneously saving a box of kittens.

      • The Flobbit

        Amen to that, my brother.

I have never understood the reason why Brett Ratner recieves the type of hatred that he gets. I get that X3 wasn’t up to par with the first two films but the issues cannot be put on Ratner’s shoulders as he landed the directing gig weeks before filming was to start. The blame goes to Bryan Singer who abanded ship to direct Emo Man Returns and took Cyclopse with him leaving the writers with very little time to utilitize him so they decided to kill him offscreen (something I hope the rectify in the new X Men film). You can also blame Matt Vaughn who decided to pass on it at the last minute after being in production for months with only two weeks before filming was to start – he has a track record for this type of behavior (see Thor, Kick Ass 2, X Men: Days of Future Past). Sorry but the Rock’s version of Hercules will destroy Renny Harlin’s version – this is the same guy who bankrupted a studio and hasn’t made a decent flick since Deep Blue Sea (even then its for comedic laughs).

Isn’t The Rock doing a Hercules movie?

Kellan Lutz is one gorgeous dude.
