Casting continues on NBC’s resurrection of the superhero series Heroes, as Heroes Reborn has added three more actors to its ensemble. Zachary Levi and Robbie Kay are already set to star in the 13-episode event series, with Jack Coleman reprising his role as “HRG” from the original show, and now EW reports that Shameless star Danika Yarosh has been added as a series regular, in addition to THR reporting that Henry Zebrowski (A to Z) signing on as a series regular and E! Online also revealing that Twilight actress Judith Shekoni has been cast as a series regular as well.

Details regarding the characters that Yarosh, Zebrowski, and Shekoni will be playing are firmly under wraps, but the official logline for Heroes Reborn says the series will “chronicle the lives of ordinary people who discover that they possess extraordinary abilities.” So Heroes, then.

Heroes creator Tim Kring returns as executive producer alongside James Middleton and Peter Elkoff, and Reborn will be focusing on a new story and new set of characters as opposed to trying to pick up plot threads left hanging when the original show was canceled.

The initial series premiered big with solid ratings and reviews, but it slowly devolved towards the end of its first season and failed to regain the same amount of attention over the course of its subsequent three seasons. We do know that Kring reached out to Zachary Quinto about reprising his standout role of Sylar in Heroes Reborn but he declined, so it’s possible more cameos of original cast members are in the cards. The series is expected to debut on NBC this summer.
