Hitman: Agent 47 didn’t make its way into Hall H this year, but it did have a presence at San Diego Comic-Con in the form of a special experience set up by Square Enix. The Aleksander Bach-directed film stars Rupert Friend as the title character, a genetically engineered assassin designed to be the perfect killing machine. In an effort to take down a mega-corporation, he teams up with Hannah Ware’s character who’s got some serious combat skills herself.

After the duo participated in a NerdHQ panel, I got the opportunity to meet up with them at the Square Enix Experience in San Diego's Gaslamp District to get the basics on their characters and to test my skills at the ICA Training Academy alongside Ware.

Please note, this was a fairly loud event so the interview audio isn’t as clear as I’d like and the experience footage was shot using a GoPro so the sound will dip quite a bit during that portion of the video. However, you do get the chance to watch me try to stuff a body into a garbage can and totally fail at being a hitman, so that makes it all worth it, right?

Hitman: Agent 47 arrives in theaters on August 21st and also stars Zachary Quinto, Ciarán Hinds and Thomas Kretschmann.

Here’s the official synopsis from 20th Century Fox:

HITMAN: AGENT 47 centers on an elite assassin who was genetically engineered from conception to be the perfect killing machine, and is known only by the last two digits on the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. He is the culmination of decades of research and forty-six earlier Agent clones — endowing him with unprecedented strength, speed, stamina and intelligence. His latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47’s past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own. Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe.
