20th Century Fox has released a new, final trailer for the video game adaptation Hitman: Agent 47. Directed by Aleksander Bach and written by Skip Woods and Michael Finch, the film stars Rupert Friend (Homeland) as the titular elite assassin who was genetically engineered from conception to be a killing machine. He’s now on the run, hunting a mega-corporation that aims to unlock the secret of Agent 47’s skill and create an army of elite assassins all its own. And he has company: a female agent unaware that she’s imbued with the same skillset as he is.

This new trailer certainly amps up the action and violence level, and it’s clear that’s the main draw of the film. But it’s also nice to get a closer look at Zachary Quinto’s villain, who has some secrets up his sleeve as well. Will the film be any good? Video game movies so far have been a series of misfires, but fans could find something worthwhile in an adaptation that’s wall-to-wall action.

Watch the new trailer below. The film opens in theaters on August 21st and also Hannah Ware, Ciarán Hinds, and Thomas Kretschmann.

Here’s the official synopsis for Hitman: Agent 47:

HITMAN: AGENT 47 centers on an elite assassin who was genetically engineered from conception to be the perfect killing machine, and is known only by the last two digits on the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck.  He is the culmination of decades of research – and forty-six earlier Agent clones -- endowing him with unprecedented strength, speed, stamina and intelligence. His latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47’s past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own. Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe.
