First Look at Nori, Ori, and Dori in Peter Jackson’s THE HOBBIT

     July 7, 2011

The first part of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit is a still over a year-and-a-half away, but Warner Bros. is showing no hesitation in letting fans get an early look at how the project is developing.  We’ve already seen the first images from the movie and now the studio have released a first look at dwarves Nori (Jed Brophy), Ori (Adam Brown), and Dori (Mark Hadlow).  Nori, Ori, and Dori are three of the thirteen dwarves that accompany Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) “who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug.”  I like the design of the costumes and make-up.  It’s clear they’re trying to emphasize that not all dwarves look like Gimli.

Hit the jump to check out the image along with a brief bio on the brothers Nori, Ori, and Dori.  The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released on December 14, 2012.  The Hobbit: There and Back Again will hit theaters on December 13, 2013.  Both movies will be in 3D.

These three brothers, all sons of the same mother, could not be more different from each other. Dori, the oldest, spends much of his time watching out for Ori, the youngest; making sure he’s not caught a chill or got himself killed by Wargs or Goblins. Nobody quite knows what Nori gets up to most of the time, except that it’s guaranteed to be dodgy and quite probably, illegal. Dori, Nori and Ori are intensely loyal to each other – and whilst they are perfectly happy fighting amongst themselves, woe-betide anyone who means harm to one of these brothers.

Amazing. Look at the detail in the high-res shot. WETA does such an awesome job with these characters. Can’t wait to see the rest of the them.

Don’t know what anyone’s “ZZZ”ing about here. This looks great! Way better than the CGI nonsense in Green Lantern that so many people here were ooh-ing and ah-ing over, before that movie tanked, tanked, tanked.

Haters if you cant appreciate what Peter Jackson does then FK off then go watch Transformers and Twilight.

    • Cereza

      THAT’S the spirit.

Don’t you dare putting Transformers next to the lame Twilight. Got it?

And yes, I will, along with the entire planet, go and watch Transformers 3 and help make it one of the most successful films of the year. It’s already grossed over $440 million, so I’m very, very happy.

Let’s see how your beloved Hobbit will do.

“Let’s see how your beloved Hobbit will do.”

Yes, because the LOTR trilogy had the success of a Michael Cera movie. STFU and go suck on Optimus Prime’s teat somewhere else. Loser.

Here is a link to some nice information about all time worldwide box office. I think the Hobbit will do just fine and more importantly its not going to suck donkey scrotum like the last 2 transformers. The first one was OK

        just saying

I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46 inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it only cost me $52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get all this stuff, BidsGet.çom

    Wonderful design.

In Peter Jackson and Weta we trust. ^^

Just seems like these dwarf “brothers” look too different from one another. I know siblings aren’t clones of one another but maybe a bit too dissimilar.

I am no Hobbit expert but the description only said they were born from the same mother, not father.

They look great…don’t think The Hobbit’s gonna be a huge succes as LoTR Trilogy but Peter Jackson still got the magic touch…I’d really love he could direct a World of Warcraft movie…(drooling)

i think if LOTR is anything to go by the hobbit is going be excellent. to the guy banging on about transformers, you want to lay off the drink for a bit m8, transformers are good entertaining films but LOTR are epic’s, shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same breath.
