Neill Blomkamp NOT Directing THE HOBBIT; Working on His Next Feature, ELYSIUM

I hate to say “I told you so”, but I don’t.  I really enjoy being right.  Vulture has debunked the rumor that director Neill Blomkamp (District 9) would be stepping in to helm The Hobbit. I explained that no one was getting the job because MGM is in ruins and until they get their act together, they don’t have the money to hire anyone.

Instead, Blomkamp is going to work on a sci-fi script he wrote called Elysium.  Vulture says not much is know about he movie other than it takes place on another planet.  I’m excited for anything Blomkamp is going to do and I’m totally find if it’s not in Middle-Earth.

    At Last I got to heard something of Neill Blomkamp next project it looks far interesting movie than Hobbit at the moment.I don't think Hobbit is coming soon so people can speculate whatever they want and Neill Blomkamp won't direct it and Neill Blomkamp can go and make his next cool sci fi movie like he did with District 9.

    I'm glad he isn't working on The Hobbit, if and when the movie gets made I'm sure it will be amazing no matter who directs it, it is just a good franchise. But Blomkamp is much too talented and original to be working on a staple like that he should keep making original pieces for a bit so that we can rave about how amazing he was back in the day (like a lot do w/ Christopher Nolan). Either way I can't wait to see his next feature.
