First Trailer for HOP

by     Posted 3 years, 281 days ago

Universal Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for Tim Hill’s (Alvin and the Chipmunks) upcoming CG/live-action family film, Hop.  The film, which comes from the same company who made this summer’s Despicable Me, stars James Marsden (Enchanted) as a slacker who finds himself taking care of the Easter Bunny (voiced by Russel Brand) after he accidentally injures him.  Instead of letting you know what the film is going to be about, the teaser instead features a cute CGI rabbit playing the drums to Song 2 by Blur.  Why?  I don’t really know.   Hop opens on April 1, 2011.  You can hit the jump to watch the trailer and to read a plot synopsis for the film.

Synopsis:

Blending state-of-the-art animation with live action, Hop tells the comic tale of Fred (James Marsden), an out-of-work slacker who accidentally injures the Easter Bunny (voiced by Russell Brand) and must take him in as he recovers.  As Fred struggles with the world’s worst houseguest, both will learn what it takes to finally grow up.

The film is helmed by Tim Hill, director of the blockbuster Alvin & the Chipmunks and produced by Chris Meledandri’s Illumination Entertainment (Despicable Me).

IT would be pretty cool if this had a hard R rating.

It’d be like a film adaptation of Russell Brand’s autobiography, only he’d be played by a CGI Easter Bunny. The usual stuff: frivolous sex, intravenous drug use, and Marshmallow Peeps involved in both acts.

wow….looks pretty terrible. The visuals look pretty awesome, but the audio was kind of a fail, as it shows him playing drums, then you hear some back ground music, that clashes horribly with his drumming.

Hold on… are you saying the tuning is off? Or are you commenting that the background music, to which he is DRUMMING TO, is clashing with his drumming? Because he is drumming to the SONG. Blur: Song 2….
