Wow.  For some reason I was kind of expecting Horns to not be any good or, at least, not be something I’d be into.  I’ve actually been carrying this perception around since the film started shooting some time ago.  But this trailer just changed my mind and I’m now looking forward to it in a major way.  I was totally underestimating this movie and certainly wasn’t expecting this kind of biting sense of humor.  Especially from director Alexandre Aja, a talented guy whose work I have yet to be able to connect with.  Now, thanks to this trailer from today’s presentation at the San Diego Comic-Con, I’m legitimately enthusiastic.

In this adaptation of the Joe Hill novel, Daniel Radcliffe stars as Ig Perrish, the main suspect in the rape and murder of his girlfriend (Juno Temple).  Hit the jump to check out the new Horns trailer and poster, and be sure to check out Steve’s video interviews with Radcliffe & Temple and Aja from TIFF.  The film also stars Max Minghella, James Remar, Joe Anderson, and Kelli GarnerHorns opens in theaters and on VOD this Halloween.

Is it just me or is Daniel Radcliffe turning into a major performer?  It's funny, back in the first few Harry Potter films he of course had the look down but was probably the weakest link in the cast in terms of performance. But he steadily grew into that role even if he carried that mild mannered innocence into projects like The Woman in Black.  Now, it seems as if those shackles are gone.

Here’s the official synopsis for Horns:

Blamed for the death of his longtime girlfriend (Temple), a small-town guy (Radcliffe) awakens one morning to find a pair of horns growing from his head in this supernatural thriller from horror ace Alexandre Aja (Haute Tension, Piranha 3D).
