HOT TUB TIME MACHINE 2 Red-Band Trailer: The Gang Travels to the Future

Paramount Pictures has released the first Hot Tub Time Machine 2 red-band trailer for director Steve Pink’s comedy sequel.  The film sees the return of Clark Duke, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Chevy Chase, with Adam Scott filling the ensemble spot left vacant by John Cusack.  As a fan of the ridiculousness of the first film, I find this follow-up trailer sufficiently swell.  Pink and Co. take the time travel conceit and go a few steps further, as Corddry, Robinson, and Duke’s characters find themselves transported to the future.  The jokes are on point, the visual gags are great, and the characters are still just as mean-spirited.

Hit the jump to watch the Hot Tub Time Machine 2 red-band trailer.  The film opens in theaters on December 25th.

That sure doesn’t look like Adam Scott took over “leading man duties”

Yeah, he was in the trailer for like 2 seconds. When he’s given the drug, and then the end with Patriot Lou, which looks like it is the ending of the movie or a post-credits scene, and if it is then I’m mad that the trailer editor ruined it.

I was about to say the same thing about Patriot Lou. Hmm..not in a massive rush for this one.

    So where is DREDD II?

    • thatoneguy

With all the other sequels to movies that had low box office intakes

      • HORSEFLESH

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 escaped from there.

      • thatoneguy

exactly, and Dredd still remains there

      • HORSEFLESH

        For now…

Wasn’t this supposed to be set in the 1990′s? Why did they lie?

    • Mezmero

It was a lie that’s how it works Lmao

      • Harry

My point is why lie? They could have said it was in the future and it would have been true. They gained nothing by saying it would be set in the 90′s.

It’s been common knowledge for some time that the movie would take place in the future, not the past (at least since the announcement that Adam Scott would be playing the son of Cusack’s character). They may have mentioned the 90′s as a possibility before the script was written, but that’s been debunked for a while now.

That’s the best red band trailer I’ve ever seen.

please tell me this is sarcasm.

    • Travis Gowen

Yep, it was so good it more than likely showed the scene right before the credits roll. Or the much needed mid-credits scene. Go Hollywood!

“4 years ago these best friends discovered a hot tub time machine… although… well, just… okay, just don’t pay any mind to how one of them, in fact pretty much the main one, how he’s not there just cause the actor didn’t feel like coming back…”

seriously though, holy shit. I actually feel embarrassed for those actors after having watched that steaming pile of a trailer. And not just that you try to make yourself apparently be above the people who were fans of the awesome series “Fringe”, but you bother to do so in a scene that looks THAT unfunny? I was like cringing when they actually started to do that little dance on the stairs.

and btw, okay so they showed off some naked boobs early in the trailer, but then why when you’re doing a red band trailer to begin with, do you later include a scene where they’re so obviously cutting around showing off another girl’s pair? This trailer was bad on just so many levels.

    • blahblahblah

complaining about the Fringe joke makes ya sound like a nerd. also you’re a fucking nerd, and no one likes you

hey… now, hey you!! Don’t you d–… you… how dare you say such a thing.

I’ll have you know the iron clad fact that my mother likes me! So don’t you tell ME… it just…. pffffttt… MY MOM LIKES ME!!!

  • Werefon

Yeah, lets show the last shot of the film in the first trailer!!!!
    FUCKING MORANIC MARKETING COMPANYSSSSS!!!

was the first one as bad as this one looks?

    • Werefon

It was better, not too funny BUT honestly I find 99% of the comedies not funny so…

I was pleasantly surprised by the first one, hadn’t known a ton about it going in but I’d had some friends who quite liked it. Nothing groundbreaking, but easily worth the 90 minutes or whatever it took to watch it. Now THIS, just looks…

  • Strong Enough

    that was funny

I bet Cusack is the killer.

  • Kaine Morrison

Is Adam Scott a New Character or the Same Character that John played?
I don’t watch trailers and No one has said anything about this in any article, anywhere!

  • Alan Grant

i liked the first movie but this trailer for the sequel was terrible. Boobs.

Movies like this should be very inspirational to people who want to be a screenwriter. In that it doesn’t take any real talent to be one.
