Cartoon Network had Dragons: Riders of Berk and Dragons: Defenders of Berk, but now How to Train Your Dragon is moving over to Netflix for a new series. The official Netflix press release makes no mention of Riders of Berk or Defenders of Berk and also stresses that this is an “all-new” series, so the narrative probably won’t have much to do with what went down on the Cartoon Network show, but, Riders of Berk and Defenders of Berk are set in between HTTYD and HTTYD 2 and it seems likely that the events of this new show will follow the film sequel, so there should be some continuity in that respect.

Dragons: Race to the Edge will take Hiccup and Toothless beyond the borders of Berk where they find something called the Dragon Eye, an ancient artifact that helps them discover new lands and never-before-seen dragons. You can check out the very first Dragons: Race to the Edge teaser trailer below. All 13 episodes of the show will hit Netflix on June 26th.

Here’s the official press release from Netflix:

On June 26, the studio that brought you How to Train Your Dragon unveils an all-new Netflix original series that takes Hiccup and Toothless to the edge of adventure: DREAMWORKS DRAGONS: RACE TO THE EDGE!
