Hugo Weaving Will Return For THE HOBBIT

hugo_weaving_elrond_hobbit_01.jpgAccording to, director Guillermo del Toro has confirmed that Hugo Weaving will return as Elrond, Lord of Rivendell for the upcoming two-part adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit”.  You may remember Elrond as the character who constantly warned his daughter about messing around that hunky Ranger Aragorn.  Then he relented and gave Aragorn a massive sword in a no-way-symbolic “I Now Give You Permission To Bone My Daughter”-present.

The audio interview del Toro did with BBC Radio 5 Simon Mayo also hints that Andy Serkis and Ian McKellan may also return as Gollum and Gandalf, respectively.  But let’s just take it one step at a time and happily welcome Agent Smith back to The Shire.
