It must feel good to be Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation) and Jason Woliner (co-writer/director of Human Giant) right now.  The duo met with Judd Apatow for a breakfast meeting and walked away with a three picture deal.  Universal Pictures and Apatow will produce the projects while Ansari and Woliner will write at least one of them. Meanwhile, Ansari is expected to star in all of the films.  To read what all three films are about, just hit the jump.

First of all, Variety's report weirdly states that Aziz Ansari is a former correspondent for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.  As much as I would actually love to see Aziz on the show, it's sadly not true.  However, Ansari did co-star on MTV's Human Giant with Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer (the men in the photo above with black boxes over their faces to protect their identities). Now that we've cleared that up, let's get to these three films.

The first film is currently titled Let's Do This and will be a road movie which will will follow two guys who work for a motivational speaking company.  The second project doesn't have a title yet, but follows a disgraced cosmonaut (Ansari) who is forced to return to outer space to clear his name.  The third project is also currently untitled, but is expected to be a Funny People spin-off film which will follow the further adventures of Raaaaaaaandy.

I've been a fan of Aziz Ansari's for awhile now and I'm happy to see him getting a chance to carry a film on his own.  It's pretty surreal to me that we will be seeing him and Zach Galifianakis as a couple of the next big comedy stars, but I love it and I really do wish them both the best.  I also hope that we really do get to see that outer space comedy starring Ansari one day.

Anyway, you can see Ansari next year in the Apatow produced Get Him to the Greek.  He also has a stand up comedy special, which is directed by Woliner, that will be airing Jan 17th on Comedy Central before coming out on CD/DVD on the 19th.
