New Images from the Set of THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE Featuring Jennifer Lawrence

     October 12, 2012

Production is currently underway in Atlanta on the highly anticipated sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and some new set photos have landed online.  We’ve previously seen some of the stars in their training uniforms as well as Donald Sutherland in full President Snow garb, but today’s low-key batch features Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss and a few people in Capitol-esque white suits (Peacekeepers, perhaps?).  It’s not clear, but if I had to guess these images are likely from scenes at the beginning of the book in which Katniss and Peeta are in the middle of their duty-bound “victory tour” of the 12 districts after winning the Hunger Games in the first book/film.

Hit the jump to check out the images.  The film also stars Josh Hutcherson, Sam Claflin, Liam Hemsworth, Jeffrey Wright, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone, Amanda Plummer, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland, and Woody Harrelson.  The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens November 22, 2013.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire:

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
